Each week, Jon delivers an inspirational and educational “4 Minutes In The Front Row”
episode where he shares ideas for being fully alive, or as we like to say, Living Life In The Front Row™.

In Today's Episode...

Are you a powerful decision maker? Would your track record say you are? Do you have a decision making process?

At times in life, I’ve struggled with big decisions. I’ve stumbled upon a solid system you can use to make big decisions, whether it’s who to marry or what to have for dinner.

3 THINGS TO CONSIDER

1.)  Your state of mind. When you’re tired, hungry, stressed, scared, or frustrated — few of us make great decisions. We’d all benefit by asking ourselves: Am I in the right state of mind to make this decision? Should I sleep on it? Would changing my environment help me gain clarity? (Maybe take a walk outside) Who’s influencing my thinking currently and are they a qualified source on the topic at hand? What are my values and will my decision align with them? *Baba Shiv, Stanford Professor, talks about how making decisions in the morning has benefits because our serotonin levels are different (Watch more about that here.)

2.)  The question itself. Can you restate the question a few different ways to ensure you’re asking the right question. So many times people wrestle with the decision only to find out they’re asking the wrong question. What if the focus shifted to pursuing the right question first? No sense is making a powerful decision if you’re not asking the best question.

3.)  The impact on others.  Looking back, perhaps 5, 10 or 20 years down the road, how will you feel about your decision? Often times, the short term moves feel better, but playing the long game, which may be tougher, is often the better call. How does this decision affect your family, friends, co-workers, and the world?

In this video, I share my decision making process for naming my kids (which if you don’t already know, I have two boys — Tiger and Ocean). I know… we went traditional 😃

Your friend and fan,

Jon Vroman

PS.  Remember AFTER you make powerful decisions to OWN THEM 100%. To CONTINUE the power behind those decisions, conviction is key. It’s not that you can’t change your mind, but if you make a powerful decision and then second-guess it, you’re undoing the progress made. Life is a balance between certainty and curiosity.

''I want to be most remembered for taking action and taking a risk, to try and help people with NF'' - Jake Burke

In today’s episode, I’m talking with Jake Burke. He is the Co-Founder of CureNFwithJack, a foundation that provides awareness about Neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder which Jack’s son battles with every single day.

The CureNFwithJack Foundation has raised millions of dollars to create awareness around NF and to support the medical community in its research endeavours to find a cure.

In today’s episode, you’re going to find out about the difficulties that Jake and his family have to live with on a daily basis. But more importantly, you’ll discover how this family, despite being burdened with a horrible disease, is still able to live in the moment, and celebrate life.

In this powerful interview, Jake teaches you that everybody can help, and that doing anything is better than doing nothing at all!

Here’s a quick breakdown of our chat...

  • Jake takes us on his journey from the beginning and explains his son Jack’s early diagnosis of Neurofibromatosis (NF)
  • Pushing through the struggle and leading the way in the fight against NF
  • Events leading up to Jack’s Front Row experience - the world’s GREATEST magic show!
  • Find out who is in your “Front Row” and how they can support you during the difficult times
  • Time, Talent, and Treasure - why everyone can afford to give something
  • The impact that lending an ear can have on someone in need
  • How the Burke family is able to find joy despite the real life struggle associated with NF - Jack has NF but NF DOES NOT have Jack!
  • How to mute the bad and amplify the good
  • The importance of advocating for a child who’s different
  • Why you should treat people for who they’ve become and not for who they used to be
  • Jack’s incredible Front Row experience - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
  • Living in the moment and celebrating life
  • Live big and give big!
  • What it really means to mute something out so you can focus on the positive
  • Everybody knows somebody that needs help - What you CAN’T do, is nothing!

''Don’t protect the people that don’t need the protecting, protect the people that do.'' - Jake Burke
